The Fonzie Times
Thoughts & Comments

While we are very excited about all that’s happening at IDC, we are also rejuvenated and energized whenever a family takes the time to write us a letter about the time they enjoyed at Island Dolphin Care. Below are a few comments included in letters sent in by some of the people we love

"We felt like family as soon as we entered the building. We felt like we were leaving family when we left to come home. Jeff, you rock!!!!!! Please keep in touch with us. Everyone thought you rocked!!!!! I know that John would love to hear from you when you can...Sara, having you there to answer questions about all the things we came across while snorkeling at the facility, and on our own. You enriched the experience more than you will ever know. Clara, your friendly face and attitude can't be beat!!!! You were awsome. Your heart is so sweet!!! Deena, how can we thank you??? We can't. We can tell you all day long for the rest of our lives what your dreams and what you do at Island Dolphin Care have meant to us, but, words don't come close. You are an incredible person with an incredible heart. Forgive me, but, I can't remember our interns name right now, but, her smile, and friendly attitude helped us feel more comfortable all the time. She was easy to talk to and loved to listen. I wish her, and all the interns a wonderful life in their choosen fields. I know each of them will turn out to be amazing people. They already are... Peter's knowledge about the keys, and advise about where to fish was a great asset to our trip. We felt like we had a personal tour guide. Thank you for being enthusisastic about the fishing, and the boys activities.
As I close this letter, tears are running down my face. I love each of you and honestly pray we get to come again. Like Clara said, it isn't "goodbye", it is "see you next time". Please keep in touch.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

" With the most sincere appreciation and gratitude I write this letter. Words simply cannot express the impact of Marc visiting your facility in March. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was so happy. His entire change in disposition was duly noted by his school, friends, and family when he returned to New Jersey . . . Autism has become such a challenge financially and emotionally for my family. Quite honestly, without the scholarship Marc’s dream would never have become a reality.” Marc’s Mom
"We would like to thank you for a truly amazing experience. Claudia cannot stop talking about the great time she had there and misses Sarah a lot. She prepared a scrapbook with the sheets and pictures given to her by you and showed her class, family and friends. We have seen the video over and over again. David as well told his classmates and they think he’s really cool. We thank you for the calendar, wonderful pictures, B-day cake, my present and your gracious hospitality. It truly was a memorable experience!” – Claudia and David’s Mom
"Andrew got out of the water on Friday and said, ‘Mom, I feel EUPHORIC!’ On the way home he said, ‘Mom I really think I feel different.’ He had his big Gamma Infusion day on Monday and he kept telling Nurse Natalie that he really did not need this anymore...Well, they took tons of blood to test and we will find out results soon.
Thank you a million times over for this awesome place to come and enjoy and delight in the people and the dolphins. We have been spreading the word and Andrew is intense when he makes a commitment. He will continue to pass the word for donations. HAVE A FABULOUS DOLPHIN FILLED DAY!" - Andrew’s Mom
